The Viper That Felled Mountain by Timett The Viper That Felled Mountain by Timett
A poweful scene from George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
Prince Oberyn Martell, The Red Viper, fights Ser Gregor Clegane, The Mountain that Rides, in a trial by battle. I was once again so impressed by that scene as I re-read the series that I just had to paint this pic.

Btw, I think that my watercolors have finally begun to follow my wishes in a way that I find satisfying.

So good! This is my favorite scene, and I'm glad someone drew it, and exceptionally well to boot!

In fact, I tried myself, inspired by your attempt. Yours is far better, but [link] anyway.

I already commented on your other version of this scene :) I like this coloured version even better. Love how the figures stand out against the background

*Struggles to free himself from the grip of a vicious madman* Yeah, can't remember any other time I have been as completely absorbed in a book. Just awesome.

*Grabs your head and squeezes* Haha Yeah this scene had me on such an edge, then it happened and I was just in shock. Martin's Mind description of a steel trap is deadly true.

I love the bright colors for the battle. I wish that people would stand up for others like he did, getting revenge for his sister and all.

that one is amazing!

*goes as ASOIAF fan*

although I think that Gregor's head should be bigger. ;)

Thanks!

Yeah, Gregor's head would look decidedly small helmet removed. That's just the problem with helmets. They should be drawn much bigger than the actual head, if they should be just *right*. There's probably quilting, a chainmail byrnie and then the actual helm.

As it is, though, I prefer to draw them by what feels *right*, and it really isn't the thing that looks good afterwards.

Otherwise I would have preferred to get more motion in that picture. Although they are shaking weapons around the composition is pretty static. Should have thought more about it when I was still sketching it in. :D

but I must admit one more thing - great colors. Red Viper is just as I thought he should be dressed. colorful, he almost shines. nic work, again.

you won't mind if I watch you, huh? ;)

That's just wonderful. The passage is breathtaking - once my friend gives back the books I'm ripping through them again - and you put it across amazingly.

Yay watercolors!
